Kenny Crumpton is an American award-winning journalist who now works at WJW Fox 8 as a feature reporter. Previously, before joining WJW Fox 8, Crumpton worked as a reporter at KJEO-TV in sunny Fresno, CA.

Kenny began his career at Fox 8 News in 1999, on a frigid day. This occurred soon after his viewers went on a tour of his “empty” flat and saw him swimming with dolphins in 19-degree temperatures.

The National Association of Black Broadcast Journalists recognized his five-part series, The Struggle of the African-American Farmer, with an honorable mention. During his time in Fresno, he reported topics that received national notice.

Kenny Crumpton DUI Arrest

Kenny has previously been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol by traffic officers. Lakewood police officers pulled over his Range Rover in the 1500 block of Orchard Grove Avenue at 10:30 p.m. on Friday.

According to the officers’ report, they saw a Range Rover failing to stop at the stop sign at Detroit and Brockley avenues, turning right on Detroit and then left on Orchard Grove without utilizing a turning signal.

An officer reported, “I could detect a strong stench of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Crumpton’s mouth.” He also mentioned having somewhat slurred speech and blurry eyes.

“When I asked Crumpton for his license, he went through his wallet many times.” He could see his driver’s license laying on his lap while rummaging through his wallet.” He admitted to authorities that he had only had two drinks in 15 minutes at World of Beer, 14701 Detroit Ave.

Kenny was arrested after failing the sobriety tests. He then refused to produce a breath sample, which resulted in the suspension of his license. He was subsequently arraigned in Lakewood Municipal Court, where he pled not guilty. Mr. Crumpton pled not guilty at this point.
